Douglas Freeman McDonald 96 of Fancy Gap, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing and Rehab in Laurel Fork, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Laura Richards McDonald; wife Margaret Ann Flinn McDonald; grandson, David McDonald.

Survivors include his children and spouses, Christopher and Pamela McDonald, and Iris Ann and James Norman; brother, Robert McDonald; sister, Dorthea Dressel; grandchildren and spouses, John and Debbie McDonald, Greg McDonald, Laura and Matt Nicholson, and Christalyn and Matt Oakes; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. John Leek officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.  Military Rites will be conducted by Grayson V.F.W. Post 7726.
