Douglas Eugene Lawson 73 of Austinville, passed away at his home, on Saturday; October 12th 2024. Mr. Lawson was born in Austinville to the late Eugene and Aleene Parnell Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna Daune Lawson. Mr. Lawson retired from Quadrant Engineering of Wytheville Virginia.

Mr. Lawson was survived by his children, Vicki Lawson, Robert Lawson and wife Ashley, Jason Lawson, and Steven Lawson. Surviving siblings include Randall Lawson and wife Karen, Kathy Strickland and husband Mike, Phyllis Quesenberry and husband Cleve, and Sandra Bolen. Grandchildren include Makayla Lawson, Isaiah Lawson, Hunter Hull; and great grandsons, Hayden and Briar Lawson. Mother-in-law Emma Docibell Gallimore Newman, several brother and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19th 2024, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 6pm to 8pm. Services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, October 20th 2024, at Pleasant View Church. Pastor Ricky Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery beside the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady to help cover funeral expenses.
