Dorothy Snavely Reece, 84, formerly of the Sylvatus Community, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mrs. Reece was born in Virginia to the late John Henry & Elizabeth Cook Snavely. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Connie Reece and son Douglas Reece. Mrs. Reece is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Donald & Oma Reece of Willis and David & Thelma Reece of Hillsville; sisters & brothers-in-law Jane & Edison Hurst of Salem and Rachel & Aubrey Conley of Stephson, WV; grandchildren Jessica Perry, Michael Reece, Heather Ross and Melissa Reece; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 4:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays and Dr. David Aldred officiating. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Marshall Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:30 until 4:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
