Dorothy Evelyn Primm Edwards, age 101 years 8 months, of Hillsville was called home October 9, 2012. She was born in Wythe County on February 12, 1911 to Charlie Morgan Primm and Evie Primm and was the fifth child of ten and the last surviving. Her life touched so many people with her love and kindness. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Gleaves Walker Edwards (Woodlawn) son: Olen Rush Edwards (Christiansburg formerly of Hillsville; son-in-law: Charles A. Goad (Woodlawn) and great grandson-in-law Bobby L. Nester (Hillsville). Also brothers: Edgar, Earnest, Mason and James Primm (Popular Camp) sisters: Mandy, Easter and Estella Primm and Jewett Primm Burnett all of Poplar Camp Ruby Primm Knuckles of Richmond. Surviving are: Daughter: Merle E. Goad (Hillsville) Grandson: Garry W. Goad (Woodlawn) Granddaughter: Kathy G. Nester (Hillsville) Great Granddaughter and spouse: Danielle N. and Joshua Ogle (Roanoke) Great Grandson: Robert A. Nester (Hillsville) One sister-in-law Annie C. Primm One brother-in-law: Clarence Burnette (all of Popular Camp) and lots of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Roger Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 14, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. The family will be gathering at the home of Kathy Nester 4330 Double Cabin Road, Hillsville. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
