Mrs. Dorothy Lou Edwards Lawson, age 79, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at her home. She was born July 24, 1939 in Carroll County, Virginia to Oscar Raymond Edwards and Beatrice Bowman Edwards. Besides her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, Owen L. Lawson and three brothers, Buryl Edwards, Leonard Edwards and Ray Edwards.

She is survived by her children, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Karen Lawson and daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Marshall Vass all of Austinville, VA; three granddaughters and spouses, Chelsey and Charlie Adame, Whitley and Ryan Ritter, and India and Dylan P. Lawson; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, brothers, Elmer Edwards and Walter Edwards of Austinville, VA, Glen Edwards and WD Edwards of Hillsville, VA and sister, June Burnette of Ridgeway, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ricky Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
