Dorine Farmer Steele Johnson, 91, of Woodlawn, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a volunteer for the Carroll County Senior Citizens, Golden Harvest Thrift Shop, Southwest Virginia Training Center and many other organizations. She was preceded in death by her first husband James W. Steele; infant Son Larry Darwin Steele; and grandson Michael Randolph Steele. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband Robert B. Johnson of Woodlawn; sons & daughters-in-law Robert Alexander & Shirley Harmon Steel of Woodlawn and James Randolph & Carol Davis Steele of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren Kristin Barber, Robert A. Steele, Jr. and William Randall Steele; step-children Robert C. Johnson, Benjamin Johnson and Judith Ann Burkle; sisters-in-law Nina Farmer of Galax and Larma Farmer of Hillsville; five great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren and four step-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Terri Johnson Gregory and Dr. John Dunstan officiating. Burial will follow in the North End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday prior to the funeral service
