Donald Wayne Padgett, 64 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at his home. Mr. Padgett was born in Carroll County to the late Carlie William & Winona O. Padgett. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers Bobby Ray Padgett and Bill Padgett. He is survived by his wife Bernice Williams Padgett of the home; sons & daughters-in-law Derek & Cory Padgett of Woodlawn and Christopher & Jennifer Padgett of Hillsville; sister Shirley Lyons of Laurel Fork; and grandchildren Michael Derek Padgett, Andrew Hunter Brady, Allison Victoria Padgett, and Jacob Tyler Padgett.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Eddie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
