Donald Cecil Walthers, 62, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his home. He was born January 16, 1955 to the late Ernest and Kathleen McPeak Walthers.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Darren Shawn Walthers.

He is survived by his wife Nellie White Walthers of the home; two daughters and son-in-law: Brandi Dawn and Kevin Cox of Galax, Virginia and Crystal Michele Walthers also of Galax; five grandchildren Cameron Mays, Sarah Cox, Samuel Cox, Cara Walthers and Cohen Johnson. Also surviving are two sisters Cindy Smith of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Regina Lynn Dalton of Hillsville, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry and Clara McPeak of Texas, David McPeak of Cana, Virginia, Jr. and Brenda Walthers of Tennessee.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jeff Pickett. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time at the church.   Military rites will be conducted by Grover King VFW Post #1115.
