Donald Eugene Pickett, 67 of Max Meadows, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert William and Etta Mae Swecker Pickett and sister & brother-in-law Inda Jane & Luther Payne. Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife Ruby Pickett of the home; sons Tony Pickett and Scott Pickett both of Max Meadows; sisters & brothers-in-law Juanita & Ebb Edmonds of Max Meadows, Iris & Ben Payne of Max Meadows and Barbara & Ralph Handcock of Tazewell; and three grandchildren Amy Pickett, Chris Pickett and Joshua Pickett.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
