Donald Ray Marshall, 77 of Galax, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Marshall was born in Carroll County to the late Steve and Nettie Howlett Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Marshall, son, Chris Marshall, and brothers Richard Marshall and Steve Marshall, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Donald Marshall, II and Stephanie Hines; step-daughter, Sue Hall; siblings, Glen Marshall, Rex Marshall, Joe Marshall, Irene Marshall Rakes, and Wilma Marshall Pyrtle; special nephew, Kevin Marshall; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00 PM with Pastors Jeff Pickett and Billy Burnette officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on August 27, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the memorial service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
