Donald James Burnette, 72 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Galax Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Burnette was born in Carroll County to the late Edward Lee and Anna Sutphin Burnette.

Survivors include his sister, Peggy Bowen of Martinsville and Phyllis Taylor of Winston Salem, NC; special nephew, Kenny Burnette; special friend, Mark Holcomb; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
