Donald Clifford "Duck" Henley, age 84, of Hillsville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Mr. Henley was born in Carroll County, Virginia, to the late James and Millie Henley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Henley; his great-granddaughter, Adalyn Showalter; his brothers, Bill and Robert Henley; his sister, Juanita Goad; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Nichols.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Steven Henley and his partner, Stephen Blevins, and Mark Henley and his wife, Stephanie Snider; his grandchildren, Trinity Showalter (Levi), Cheyenne Snider, and Elijah Blevins; his great-grandchildren, Derrick, Stetson, and Adaline Showalter, and Evelyn Snider. He is also survived by his brothers, Freddy Henley (Helen) and Paul Henley (Dale); and his sisters, Lois Peterman (Curtis), Dorothy Smith (Tiny), and Linda Nichols.

Donald was a God-fearing, family-loving man who found joy in life's simple pleasures—a warm cup of coffee, time spent with family, and a bowl of banana pudding. He had a deep love for bluegrass music and often enjoyed singing or picking the guitar throughout his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and the unwavering love he had for his family, especially his sons and grandchildren.

A graveside service with inurnment following will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Branscome Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to go towards the services.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
