Donald "Bruce" Dickens, 63 of Woodlawn, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Dickens was born in Welch, WV to the late Floyd Albert Dickens and Helen Dickens Booth. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, John William Dickens.

Survivors include his daughter, Toni Beamer of Woodlawn; sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda and David Porter of Roanoke, Wanda Jones of Cana, and Donna Reece of Hillsville; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Patrick Neil officiating. Burial will follow in the Dr. Jesse Dickens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
