Donald Yancy Bowman, 82, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Bowman was born in Lilly Brock, West Virginia to the late Yancy and Eithel Weddle Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Rex Bowman. Survivors include his wife, Ala Deane Bowman of the home; god children, Kenny Bowman, Cory Bowman, Casy Bowman, and Chase Bowman all of Laurel Fork; sister-in-law, Vida Bowman of Hillsville; and many other special family members. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Stewart Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonah Marshall Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
