Don O. Nichols, 83 of Hillsville, passed away on Feb. 10, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. Mr. Nichols is survived by a step-son, Allen Cornett of Sugar Grove, VA; a brother-in-law, Jack Carpenter of Fairmont, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Nichols was a veteran of World War II. He had a wonderful gift of gab, and he never met a stranger; therefore he leaves behind many friends, including his church family at Hillsville Christian Church and a group of early morning coffee-drinking buddies.

Mr. Nichols requested that no services be held; however, memorial gifts may be made in his honor to the Hillsville Christian Church, Childrens Camp Fund 120 Edgewood Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343.
