Dixie Lee Edmonds, 62 of Austinville, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Mr. Edmonds was preceded in death by a son Dickie Lee Edmonds. He is survived by his wife Freda Mae Edmonds of the home; daughters & sons-in-law Cynthia Rena & Murray Dale Daniel of Galax and Shelia Y. & Robert Swiger of Hillsville; brothers Robert R. Edmonds of Richmond and Elmer Dean Edmonds of Austinville; sisters & brothers-in-law Alma & Earl Smith of Hillsville, Bonnie Primm of Petersburg, VA, Janet & John Taylor of Galax and Thelma Slate of California; eight grandchildren Kristi Edmonds, Brandi Edmonds, Brandon Bolen, Mitchell Hash, Kelsey Daniel, Hannah Swiger, Donnie Daniel, and Tyler Daniel; great grandson Christian Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ronnie Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in the Myers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 19, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
