Dickie Odell Grimes

Dickie Odell Grimes, 73 of Austinville, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Mr. Grimes was born in Pulaski, Virginia on October 15, 1952. He attended school in Fort Chiswell and worked at Long Air Dox, where he retired after 30 plus years of service.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Renea Ann Grimes; son, Eric O’Dell Grimes; parents, Archie and Hester Felts Grimes; and brother-in-law, Craig Quesenberry.

Dickie is survived by daughter, Carrie Ford (Sean) of Booneville, MS; son, Gary Grimes (Crystal) of Booneville, MS; grandchildren, Bryson Grimes (Mamie), Mariah Grimes, Kaydee Grimes, and Ethan Grimes, all of Booneville, MS; great-granddaughter, Mia Caroline Grimes of Booneville, MS; sisters, Dreama Beasley (Vernon) of Austinville, VA and Shelia Quesenberry of Woodlawn, VA; brother, Stevie Grimes of Woodlawn, VA; two nieces; five nephews; and a host of great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00 PM with Brother Jeff Pickett and Brother Eddie Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
