Dewey Morris Montgomery, 88 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Montgomery was born in Carroll County to the late Obediah and Ada Nester Montgomery. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gerald M. Montgomery; one grandchild; and one great grandchild. He is survived by his wife Odessie S. Montgomery of the home; children Patricia M. Dalton & husband Odell of Hillsville, Michael D. Montgomery & wife Linda of Hillsville; C. Nathan Montgomery & wife Beth of Laurel Fork; and Ricky L. Montgomery of Pulaski; daughters-in-law Debbie M. Montgomery of Dublin and Carol Montgomery of Woodlawn; sisters & brother-in-law Iona Belle Worrell of Woodlawn and Etta & Elmo Collier of Hillsville; sister-in-law Delphia Montgomery of Hillsville; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dustin Montgomery and Rev. Kirk Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the McGrady Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
