Dewey Wayne Jennings

Dewey Wayne Jennings, 65, of Galax, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey J. Jennings and brother-in-law, Raleigh Lineberry.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Isabel J. Jennings; children, Tinsel Jennings and Travis Jennings (Jeannie); grandchildren, MacKensey Jennings, Savannah Jennings, Dewayne Jennings, Allison Keefe, and Kaitlyn Caviness (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Jax Wayne Caviness and Tatym Rose Caviness; mother, Wilma Jennings; sisters, Debbie Lineberry and Tina Aldred (Randal); several nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Braxton Felts. The family extends a special thank-you to his Gentiva Hospice Nurse, Tiffany Ogle, for her compassionate care and kindness.

Dewey leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, lessons and laughter that will live on in the heart of everyone who knew and loved him. His hands may no longer be turning a wrench but the things he taught his family and the love he gave them will continue for generations to come.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the Jennings Cemetery on Sherwood Road at 11:00 AM with Pastor Doug Sharp officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
