Dennis Elton Goad, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Goad was born in Carroll County to the late Charles F. & Ocie Hull Goad. He is survived by his wife Ruby E. Goad of the home; daughter & son-in-law Ellen Marie & Terry Horton of Elizabeth City, NC; sons & daughter-in-law Randall F. & Derhonda Goad of Fancy Gap and James Goad of Hillsville; brothers Delmer Goad of Laurel Fork; sisters Mattie Goad of Woodlawn, Elsie Hodge of Tennessee, and Geneva Goad of Hillsville; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. S.G. Bolt and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
