Delta Branscomb
Bolen
October 10, 1927 – March 5, 2025
Delta Branscomb Bolen, 97 of Hillsville, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025.
She was the youngest child born to Edmond and Diannah Hill Branscomb of Hillsville.
Mrs. Bolen is survived by two daughters and one son, Barbara Lee and husband, Jerry of Athens, GA; Shelly Dixson and husband, Ronny of High Point, NC and Ben Bolen and wife, Debbie of Radford, VA.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin Jessup and wife, Debra of Cornelius, NC; Brian Jessup of Boonville, NC; Russell Lee and wife, Juliana of Rock Hill, SC and Amy Dalton of Burlington, NC.
Mrs. Bolen was also blessed with five great grandchildren: Carter Jessup, Mason Jessup, Adam Jessup, Graham Dalton and Luke Lee.
Other family members now deceased are sisters Kate Allen (Troy), Ada Hundley (Elbert), and Ruth Farmer (Horace) and brothers Otto (Blanche), Arthur (Vivian), and Robert Branscomb (Louise).
The family would like to thank her next door neighbors who looked out for her and helped her in so many ways. Also, a special thanks to the people and services that provided meals for her: First United Methodist Church Dinner Bell service, Susan and Rick Clark and Loria Barnes.
She worked at Sprague Electric Company and later BMI for 38 years until she was 73 years old. She loved her job and the many friends she had there.
Delta was a combination of grace, beauty, strength and kindness. In 1942 she was named Miss Carroll County in the Hillsville Lions Club's beauty contest. She was also a great singer and sang second alto in high School.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on March 12, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville. Burial will be private at a later time.
