Delmon C. Nester, 89, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County to the late Emmett and Lutitia Nester. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Rogene M. Nester of the home; son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Nester of Laurel Fork; daughter, Debra Nester of Laurel Fork, granddaughter, Jennifer Nester of Laurel Fork; brother, Mauton Nester of Hillsville; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Shannon Hicks and Rev. Winston Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Grover King VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
