Delmar Frank Alderman, 90, of Hillsville went to spend Easter sunrise, April 20, 2014 with his Lord and Savior, and son Freddie Ray. Delmar was born on July 5, 1923 to the late Sanford C. Alderman and Louisa Webb Alderman. He was also preceded in death by his son, Freddie Ray; four brothers, Otis Elbert, Maynard, and Buel; five sisters, Ora, Cecil, Wavie, Gracie, and Pauline. Delmar was a farmer and a heavy equipment operator. Delmar was a World War II veteran and served in the 8th Air Force in Europe. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Lois S. Alderman of the home; son, Gerald Alderman of Hillsville; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Steve Quesenberry of Indian Valley; three grandsons, Kirk, Freddie, and Chris Alderman; two granddaughters, Tammy Goad, and Jessica Bishop; great grandchildren, Jackson, Jacob and Cy Alderman, Taylor and Dylan Goad, and Emma Bishop; and sister and brother-in-law, Lorine and Keith Goad. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Webb's Cemetery in Meadows of Dan, VA with Rev. Norman Goad and Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Alderman family.
