Delma Alene Hanks Goad, 97, of Woodlawn, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mrs. Goad was born in Carroll County to the late James Eric and Helen Jane Calfee Hanks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Goad and a grandson, Kerry Shannon Brown. Survivors include her children and spouses, James Glendi and Dian Goad of Hillsville, Hattie Jane and Morgan Padgett of Hillsville, Verlin Ray and Frances Goad of Hillsville, and Delma Lee and Henry Edwards of Conway, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva Richardson of Woodlawn, Una Lee Brewer of Galax, Veda Williams of Pulaski, and Sally and Paul Ratcliffe of Pulaski; brothers and sister-in-law, James Hanks of Pulaski and Elmer and Christine Hanks of Pulaski; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. Jeremy Hendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
