Del Ray Parker died peacefully at his home in Hillsville, Virginia on April 3, 2023.

Del was born in Mt Pleasant, Michigan, September 30, 1938 to Beatrice I Massey and William H Parker. He joined the Navy at the young age of 17 and served for 23 years retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. In his career in the Navy he travelled to many places, and received communications and computer training that provided skills allowing him to retire from the Navy and continue working for government contractors.

After living in Maryland for 30 years after his retirement, Del found his little piece of heaven at his home in Hillsville. He loved sitting on his front porch looking over the ponds, the hills, the sunsets and watching the many animals cross his land. He also enjoyed country dancing with all his friends at the Alleghany Jubilee in Sparta NC.

Del is survived by his wife Linda, son Sean (Marie), daughter Kerry (Alan), step daughter Rachel (Julio) and grandchildren Michael, Natalie, Anna and Kate, step grandchildren Tres, Adin, Alex, brothers Donald and Dalton and sister Marilyn.

He was predeceased by his parents, first wife, Josephine (divorced), sisters Alice and Brenda and step daughter Sara (Howard)

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at his home at a later date.
