Debra Thompson Nester, 57, of Laurel Fork, passed away on October 23, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Nester was born on November 7, 1956 in Martinsville, VA. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Nester and father, Aubrey Vinton Thompson. Debra is survived by her husband, Jerry Nester of the home; son, Michael Nester of Laurel Fork; daughter, Sheena Nester Marshall of Laurel Fork; mother and step father, Shirlene and Thomas Slate; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Damon Tarquinio; and four grandchildren, Chase Marshall, Austin Marshall, Kyle Nester, and Kadence Nester. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Laurel Fork Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Gleason Worrell and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
