David Matthew Vass, 29 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Mr. Vass was born in Galax, Virginia on December 3, 1987. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Michael Vass and his paternal grandfather, James Vass.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Jo Dudley of Mount Airy, NC; brothers, Joe Vass of Florida and Mark Vass of Galax; sister, Misty Pack of Ararat; paternal grandmother, Dora Vass of Hillsville; uncles, Ivan Vass and Craig Vass; aunt, Rebecca Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Victory Way Baptist Church at 7:00 PM with Pastor Mike Wells officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 6:00 until 7:00 PM prior to the service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
