David Lester Smith, 77, of Fancy Gap, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Hill Smith; son, Steven Smith; parents, Augustus and Tencie Smith.

Survivors include his daughter, Anne Paige Smith of Chicago, IL; daughter-in-law, Sandi Smith; brother, Perry Smith of Sylvatus, VA; special granddaughters, Sydney Smith, and Sloan Smith; family friend, Heather Hylton.

A Graveside Service and burial will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Good Hope Cemetery with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at 250 Williams Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303 or to Carilion Hospice at 701 Randolph Street Suite 110 Radford, VA 24141. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Smith family.
