David Bolen Shepherd, 78 of Fairlawn, VA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.  Mr. Shepherd was born in Pulaski, VA to the late H. Bolen and Ruby King Shepherd.

He is survived by his children, Stephanie Shepherd Gipple and husband, Mike, Justin Shepherd and wife, Blair, and Daniel Shepherd and fiancée, Amanda; sister, Yvonne Slaughter; and grandchildren, Emma Shepherd, Cole Shepherd, and James Gipple.

David Shepherd graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1967. Mr. Shepherd graduated from MCV/VCU with his Bachelors of Science in pharmacy in May 1974. He was a pharmacist for Standard Drug, later promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations for Standard Drug. Then became the Director of Medical Assistant Services for the state of Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Cathy Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
