David Preston Goad, 82, of Laurel Fork passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Goad was preceded in death by his parents, William Posie and Hattie Barr Goad; son, Mark Ferguson; and daughter, Evelyn Goad.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Barbara Goad of the home; children and spouses, Jimmy and Bonnie Goad of Laurel Fork, Timmy Goad of Hillsville, Ramona Forrester of Hillsville, and Galen and Samantha Goad of Galax; eight grandchildren, Emily Goad, Elijah Goad, Amy Harrell, Jordan Nunn, Malachi Goad, Macalister Goad, Makray Goad, and Maverik Goad; great grandson, Eli Goad.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Danny Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Goad Cemetery on Silverleaf Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Goad family.
