David Wayne Fender, 57, of Austinville passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 in North Carolina Baptist Hospital.  David was born February 14, 1965 to the late David Martin Fender and Mary Alice Bandy Fender.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by children David Wayne Fender, Jr. and Sierra Fender.

He is survived by his fiancée Deborah C. Melton, daughter and husband Brittany Ruiz and Rafael; sisters Carolyn Fender, Brenda Edwards, Martha Robinson and Amanda Harrison.  Five grandchildren Sofia Ruiz, Daniella Ruiz, Anabella Ruiz, Miliana Ruiz, Max Miliano Ruiz also survive along with special Aunt Bobbie Fender and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ricky Alexander officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fender Family Cemetery in Woodlawn, VA. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers to family request donations be made to the funeral home to aid with David's funeral expenses.
