David Sherdon (Blackie) Marshall, 77 of Dugspur, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Marshall was the youngest son of the late Ira S. & Mettie V. Turman Marshall. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Victor Marshall, Ezra (Tommy) Marshall, Robert Marshall, and Conley Marshall and sisters Thelma Miles, Merle Vann, Leta Ragsdale, and Hazel Banks. He is survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law Vinton & Juanita Marshall of Bluefield, WV and Claude & Sylvia Marshall of Christiansburg; sister-in-law Mary Burnette Marshall of Galax; and two nephews and several nieces.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Cox Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Rev. Randy Keys officiating. There will be no visitation.
