David I. Bernklow, 75 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at his home. Mr. Bernklow was born in Putnam, Connecticut to the late Fredrick Alton and Marjorie Elizabeth Corkum Bernklow. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Francis, Fredrick, Jr., Ralph, and Harold.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Williamson Bernklow of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, David I. Bernklow, Jr. and wife, Corinna M. Bernklow of Deltona, FL and Dennis W. Bernklow of Laurel Fork; sister, Virginia Baskin of Boston, MA; granddaughters, Samantha Lynn Ortiz and Christina L. Bernklow; great grandson, Joshua D. Ortiz; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady at 2:00 PM. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115 and Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 AF & AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 AF & AM Fellowship Hall Building Fund c/o Michael Parnell 1373 Monorat Road, Woodlawn, VA 24381 with "Donation for Fellowship Hall" noted in the subject line on the check.
