Darren Shawn Walthers, 21 of Hillsville, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Walthers is survived by his parents Donnie & Nellie Walthers of Hillsville; sisters & spouses Brandi Dawn & Kevin Cox of Galax and Crystal Michele Walthers & Scott Mays of Galax; maternal grandparents Sylvan & Faye White of Hillsville; maternal great grandmother Nellie Lewis Horton of Meadows of Dan; paternal grandmother Kathleen Smith of Hillsville; and special nephew Cameron Mays.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery on Whitetown Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday night at the funeral home.
