Danny Ray Kemp, 62 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home. Mr. Kemp was born in Hillsville, Virginia to the late Charles Ward and Emma Lefalene Sizemore Kemp. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Novella Lawson.

Survivors include his son, Justin Nathaniel Kemp; three grandchildren, McKijah Avery Kemp, Daustin Malachi Kemp, and Jettison Ezekiel Kemp; and siblings, Bernita Harris, Diann Stump (Pete), Debbie Austin, Patsy Black, Shirley Kemp, Linda Branscome (Donnie), Kenneth Harris, David Kemp, and C.W. Kemp (Tina); and several special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Flowers would be appreciated; however, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
