Danny Edward Bowman, 66, of Laurel Fork, VA, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA.

He was preceded in death by his son, Sterling Bowman; father Leslie Bowman; mother in-law Georgia Bowman; and brother, Michael Bowman.

Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife Mildred Bowman of the home; son and daughter in-law, Steven and Tammy Bowman of Laurel Fork; grandson, Steven Daniel Bowman; mother, Goldie Bowman of Laurel Fork; 3 brothers and sister in-law, Wayne and Lori Bowman of Laurel Fork, Kenneth Bowman of Laurel Fork, and Dewey Bowman of Hillsville; 5 sisters and brothers in-laws, Brenda and Tommy Goins of Pilot Mt., NC, Eloise & Barry Burnette of Fancy Gap, Delores and Carl Clontz, of Hillsville, Jane and Donnie Dalton of Laurel Fork, and Patty and Bill Alderman of Hillsville; father in-law Mason Bowman of Laurel Fork. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Rome Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Henderick and Shannon Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Rome Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
