Daniel W. Spence, 67 of Hillsville, passed away Monday, November 6, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Spence was preceded in death by his father Euell Spence; and brothers John Spence, Arden Spence, David Spence and Edward Spence. He is survived by his wife Carroll Spence of the home; sons & daughter-in-law Danny & Dawn Spence of Hillsville; mother Carrie Spence; grandchildren Austin Spence and Sarah Dawn Spence; sisters & brother-in-law Lena Mae Webb and Carolyn Sue & Joe Stanley; brothers & sister-in-law Byrun (Slicks) Spence and J.D. & Linda Spence; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joe Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Quesenberry-Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday night at the funeral home.
