Daniel Paul (Dan) Ogle 78, of Hillsville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 21, 2010. He was the son of the late Isaac and Della Ogle of Sylvatus. He came from a family of 14 children, ten sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Henrietta Montgomery Ogle; three sons & daughters-in-laws Matthew Ogle of Hillsville, Marcus & Lynn Ogle of Woodlawn, and Mavin & Charlotte Ogle of Christiansburg; daughter Veronica Blevins of Winston-Salem, NC; five sisters Fay Edmond, Lucille Dalton, Nellie Slate all of Hillsville, Galenia Shelton, and Myrtle Spencer of Barren Springs. Three grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive. He was a member of the Sylvatus Community Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Edward Richardson and Pastor William Carico officiating. Burial will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Little Vine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 5:00 PM until service time. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sylvatus Community Church. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
