Dana Kay Akers, 72 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Akers was born in West Virginia to the late Sid and Irene Baird Whitt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Whitt.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Akers; children, Cindy Sexton, Sandy Hull and Randy Akers; grandchild, Alexandria Lucas; and siblings, Lee E. Howley, Paul Whitt, Connie Carr, and Rachael Rabic.

Private services will be held at a later date. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
