Dama Lynn Alderman, 47 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Alderman was preceded in death by her mother Betty Sawyers Dixon and a grandson Collin James Sumner. She is survived by her husband Gerald Alderman of the home; daughters & sons-in-law Stephanie & Shawn Robinson of Galax and Chrissy & Danny Peoples of Galax; son & daughter-in-law Timothy James & Jessica Sumner of Woodlawn; father Clayton Dixon of Fries; step son Christopher Dewayne Alderman of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law Donnie & Barbara Dixon of Galax; sister & brother-in-law Dianne & Earnest Davis of Fries; six grandchildren; and one step grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Claude Holderfield and Rev. Eddie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
