Dale Leroy Dalton, 61, passed away on Thursday August 7th, at his home surrounded by family and friends.  Dale fought a long and difficult battle with a very aggressive disease Lewy Body Dementia.

He was predeceased in death by his father, Glenn Lee Dalton, Brother Danny Wayne Dalton, Paternal Grandparents Howard and Annie Beasley Dalton, and Maternal Grandparents Chester and Roxie Marshall Smith.

Dale was born in Pulaski VA and raised in Hillsville VA. He graduated from Carroll County High School.  He enjoyed careers in the trucking and grocery industry.  He worked as a Field Merchandising Supervisor for The Kroger Company and The Retail Odyssey Company.

Dale was known for his great sense of humor, his kind and gentle nature and his unsurpassed love for his children, grandchildren and all of his family.

He is survived by his wife Charlyn "Charlie" Perfater Dalton, his mother Shirley Opal Smith Dalton, his children Whitney Dalton Smith (Michael), his son Isaac Grant Dalton (Bekah), his grandchildren Weston Smith, Donald and Isabella Dalton, 3 Sisters Delores Johnson, Roxanne Bond (Mike), Donna Dalton Delp (Greg) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A sincere Thank you to Gentle Shepherd Hospice of Roanoke, VA. and a profound Thank you to Lashawn Ramey who provided devoted care, attention and love during this time as his caregiver for the last 6 months.  Also, a large thank you to Maryluz Cole from Gentle Shepherd who visited on the home on her days off when she didn't have to.

Visitation will be from 3 pm to 5 pm at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel located 1035 North Main Street Hillsville VA on Sunday August 10, with the service to follow at 5 pm.
