Dale Austin Alger , 62 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Mt. Airy, NC. Mr. Alger was born in Hillsville, VA to the late David Loren and Emma Lee Alderman Alger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Alex Alger.

Survivors include his daughter, Denise Alger of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Alderman; grandchildren, Alex Horton, Caitlin Horton, and Amber Horton; wife, Charlotte Alger; and a niece and nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
