Cynthia Lucille Newman, 58 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Newman was born in Newport News on February 13, 1963. She was preceded in death by her father, Rupert Marshall; step-father, Harry Bise; and paternal grandparents, Edd and Chelsea Marshall; and maternal grandparents, Fannie and Cecil Shockley.

Survivors include her husband, Rickie Newman; sons, Danny Newman and Gary Newman; mother, Lucille Marshall Bise; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven Marshall, Ronald and Liza Marshall, Freddie and Marion Marshall, and Michael and Billie Marshall; grandsons, Dustin Newman, Bradley Newman and Jacob Newman; step-granddaughter, Maggie Shockley; best friends, Tammy Carter, Susan Staples, and Donald Quesinberry; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Shockley Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shockley Cemetery.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
