Cosby Mae Nester Cox, 83, of Durham, NC, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Durham Regional Hospital. She was born in Pulaski Co., VA, daughter of the late Jesse Nester and Alpha Mae Collier Nester. Also preceding Mrs. Cox in death was her husband of 62 years, S.J. Cox, and a sister, Melvenia Roberts.

Mrs. Cox was a retired Payroll Manager of Peoples Security Life Insurance Co. and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother Nana, daughter, sister and friend to all.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her loving son, Larry Wayne Cox and wife Annette (Sissy) of Hillsborough, NC; a step-son, Howard. L. Cox and wife Shirley of Ormond Beach FL; two grandchildren that adored her, Tyler Cox and Christopher Cox; a sister Nancy Ann Slusher and fiance J.R. of Falls Church, VA; three brothers, Paunne Nester and wife Dot of Lexington, NC, Charles Nester and wife Brenda of Luray, VA and Leon Nester and wife Dale of Kill Devil Hills, NC; a niece and several nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clements Funeral Home in Durham, NC, Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Following the visitation in Durham, Mrs. Cox will be moved to the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, VA. The family will receive friends at Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Funeral Services will be conducted following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Jay Fogleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery in Laurel Fork, VA. Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel and Clements Funeral Home is serving the family.

The Family will receive friends at other times at the home of son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sissy Cox of 4410 Minnis Drive in Hillsborough, NC.
