Cordelia Evelyn Vaughan, 89, of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday October 17, 2009 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice House in Dobson, NC. She was born in Laurel Fork, VA on September 27, 1920 to the late Jonah Hezikah and Mary Elizabeth Sowers Marshall. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, James Edwin Vaughan; two daughters Donna Donnelly & husband Rob Donnelly of Chilhowie, VA, and Anne Huff & husband Larry of Marietta, GA; also surviving are her loving sisters Christine Rakes, Laurel Fork; and Aileen Wiggins, Ridgeway; and her beloved 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday October 19, 2009 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady-Chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Jonah Hezikah Marshall Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday October 19, 2009 one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice House, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady-Chapel is serving the family.
