Coolidge A. Griffin, 88, of Austinville, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mr. Griffin was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Bruce and Alverta Beasley Griffin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Griffin. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Douglas Cooke of Pilot Mtn., NC and Anita and Danny Semones of Austinville; sister, Lydia Towe of Cana; brother, Rush Griffin of Austinville; grandson and spouse, Bryan and Barbara Fields of Old Fort, NC; great grandchildren, Gabriel Fields and Alivia Fields; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Monta Vista Memory Gardens with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family requests no food and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
