Connie Mullens Damerel, 76 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Damerel was born in Virginia to the late Elvie and Rose Frazier Mullens.

Survivors include her husband, Gardner Damerel of the home; children, Sharon Brammer of Coal Grove, OH, Jesse Bryant of Sylvatus, VA, Buddy Damerel of Richmond, VA and Andrea Elizabeth Garrison of Florida; brothers, Ed Mullens of Independence, VA and Frank Mullens of Ohio; step mother, Evalee Mullens of Bluefield, WV; half siblings, Ruth Mullens, Nancy Mullens Simpson, Denny Sharp, and Tommy Sharp all of Bluefield; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 144 Washington Avenue N., Pulaski, VA 24301 with Rev. Vickie Houk officiating. Burial will follow in the Shorts Creek Church of God Cemetery in Austinville. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
