Collin Ray Nester, 78, of Max Meadows, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his home. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Ray Clifton and Polly Ann White Nester. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Nester and Doug Nester; and sister, Ruby Pickett.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Loetta Williams Nester of the home; sons, Terry Nester of Austinville, Timothy Nester of Woodlawn, and Stephen Nester of Max Meadows; daughter, Tammy Peak of Max Meadows; brothers, Dallas Nester of Hillsville, Clifton Nester of Pembrook, Sammy Nester and J.R. Nester both of Tennessee, Roy Nester, Lonnie Nester, and Jack Nester all of Austinville and Perry Nester of Fancy Gap; sisters, Cathy Elliot of Austinville and Charlotte Pepper of Galax; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23,2 017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Clayton Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Vine Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
