Collin Brockway "Brock" Bowman, 85, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Bowman was born in Carroll County to the late Ellis and Susie Jane Painter Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ava Ruth Bowman and brother, Nyle Bowman. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Larry Hill of Fancy Gap and Cheryl and Daniel Cronk of Floyd; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kristy Bowman of Floyd; siblings, Oleta Miller of Harrisonburg, Vernon Davis of Claudeville, Gorden Bowman of Laurel Fork, Dwight Bowman of Galax, and Dorman Bowman of Leesburg, FL; grandsons and spouse, Benjamin Cronk, Nathan Cronk, Trent Hill, and Justin and Crystal Hill; granddaughters and spouse, Marissa and Patrick Puckett and Kaylen Bowman; and two great grandchildren, John Gates and Sadie Jarrells. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Rome Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Rome Cemetery with Military Rites being conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.
