Clyde Belle Sutphin, 89 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Sutphin was born in Carroll County to the late Sollie & Martha Tolbert Alderman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Alvey E. Sutphin, a grandson Tony Sutphin, two brothers S.A. Alderman, Jr. and Bacel Alderman, and a sister Odell Nester. Survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law Bobby & Gail Sutphin Laurel Fork and Ed & Verle Sutphin of Bristol, VA; four grandchildren Phyllis Sutphin, Tim Sutphin, Michael Sutphin and Bumble Bee Hicks; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Michael Sutphin, Brother Shannon Hicks, and Pastor Kevin Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
